Grow Up Grow Out (GUGO) is an organization dedicated to ensuring that young people gain the necessary skills and support they need to become productive members of society. GUGO works with youth and families that have been impacted by the criminal justice system, and those at-risk for criminal justice involvement.

 

GUGO is based on the premise that youth and families need to be heard. Past choices must be understood and not devalued. They learn the importance of needs identification and goal acquisition through a non-violent pro-social framework. GUGO Credible Messengers help youth and families gain the capacity for critical self-reflection, decision making, conflict resolution skills that lead to greater self-efficacy and stronger communities.

 

The organization provides the opportunity for dialog between youth, families, communities, employers, and criminal justice personnel so that they can effectively engage youth.
